In the finale to my party food features this week, I wanted to tell you about my second favorite way to use little cocktail sausages. The first is, of course, pigs in a blanket – which get eaten up in this house as fast as I can make them. They are one of Pickle’s all time favorites, and when I asked her for some food ideas for her birthday, that was her #1 choice. This is a great recipe as an alternative to that, or if you just aren’t feeling like making meatballs again. I usually make these on the stove – but these Sweet & Savory Sausages would be great in the slow cooker too.
Add your sausages to a pot.
Add brown sugar.
Then the mustard.
Mix and allow to simmer until the sugar is dissolved and sausages are heated through.
- 1 package cocktail sausages
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp stone ground (or dijon) mustard
- Combine all ingredients in a pot and allow to simmer until sugar is dissolved and sausages are heated through.
